Outback Ballooning provides a high quality, fun and totally safe
ballooning experience, which may be enjoyed by people of all ages and
physical abilities. The setting over the remote desert, serviced only by a
few bush tracks enhances the sense of adventure that you will experience.
The location also ensures that you are treated to the spectacular colours of
the early morning dawn over the MacDonnell Ranges. On most days you will
also see Australian wildlife, particularly red kangaroos, in their natural
environment. All flights are followed by a freshly cooked, hot four course
champagne breakfast. This is served at a desert campsite to complete the
morning's experience before you are returned to your accommodation.
Alice Springs - 30 or 60 minute balloon flight
Your Outback Ballooning adventure begins in the cool pre dawn darkness as you are
picked up from your accommodation in Alice Springs. During the 15-minute
drive to the desert launch site you will get to know the crew as they make
final weather checks and explain the routine for the morning. At the launch
site gas burners are used to inflate the balloons just as the sun lights up
the rugged MacDonnell Ranges.
Once floating gently in the air you will appreciate the vast remoteness of
the Australian Outback. Wildlife, particularly big red kangaroos are seen
nearly every day as the balloon crosses spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and
cattle stations.
After landing you may become involved in assisting the crew or taking
photographs as they pack the nylon balloon back into its bag. Outback Ballooning's buses will
then travel along remote tracks to our bush campsite where you will be
served a fresh cooked breakfast. This is accompanied by champagne and
tropical fruit juice cocktails.
Between courses of honey glazed sesame chicken drumsticks, quiches, fruit
baskets, cheese and homemade chocolate cake you will have the opportunity to
purchase photographs taken earlier in the morning. A large range of Outback
Ballooning souvenirs are also available. Vegetarian and other dietary
requirements should be notified at the time of booking.
Transfers back to your hotel, the airport or another tour, and a
commemorative flight certificate completes your morning with Outback
Ballooning.
Outback Ballooning Private Charters
We can make arrangement for your private flight, be it for weddings,
conventions or just an indulgence! Available from Alice Springs.
Insurance (not optional)
Due to the imposition of mandatory flight insurance by the Australian
Government under the Air Carrier's Liability Act and the rapidly increasing
and uncertain premiums in the adventure industry, a separate fee is payable
to cover insurance.
The fee is currently AUD$20.00 per passenger, payable by cash or credit card
on the morning of the flight.
