Itinerary
Depart Launceston – 9.00 am
Departing Launceston we make our way to Deloraine and then onto Chudleigh where you will have the opportunity to sample unique Tasmanian honeys with over fifty to choose from.
From here we make our way to Mole Creek, our second stop will be at Trowunna Wildlife Park, situated in the beautiful Mersey Valley and Kooparoona Niara, the Mountains of the Spirits (Great Western Tiers).
Trowunna is set in natural surroundings, encompassing an interactive experience that offers visitor’s awareness, education and a friendly understanding of the wildlife unique to Tasmania. Featuring a wide range of Tasmanian native animals, the park is committed to caring for injured and orphaned wildlife and provides a great insight into breeding and wildlife rehabilitation programmers. Here you will a very close encounter with the famous Tasmanian devil, wombats, kangaroos and many other native species in natural surrounds with very informative guide.
Departing Trowunna we journey to the mountains to seek out our lunch destination beside the beautiful Meander River, where you will be introduced to some traditional Tasmanian gourmet bush tucker and tempting treats in a great bush setting. Lunch will consist of original bush recipes and native spices. We do more than just tempt your taste buds; we tantalise and challenge them with Tasmanian gourmet cuisine.
A combination of exotic Tasmanian game meats, Fish and other dishes prepared, cooked and served with nature, the opportunity to sample some of the “Bush Chefs” own creations, Pan seared Wallaby Tenderloins with native pepper berry and port sauce, succulent 3 spiced trout and numerous other tempting treats, all consumed with an accompanying world-renowned Tasmanian cool climate wines beers and cheeses.
After lunch via the back blocks we continue on to Sheffield “The Town of Murals”, spending some time strolling the streets of this unique little village, adorned with depictions of the early pioneering days in Tasmania’s rugged highlands.
After leaving Sheffield we make our way back to Launceston in the late afternoon.
Return to Launceston – Approximately 5.00pm
