Timara Plantation Suite - is Kewarra Beach Resort’s private Suite. This superbly restored pioneer cottage was built in the early 1900’s from hand cut cedar from the Daintree Rainforest and furnished to match the era with handcrafted pieces made by local carpenters. The cottage was brought from Daintree Village, 70 miles north of Cairns, to a promontory of the Resort's freshwater lagoon where its private gardens are surrounded by water on three sides.
In Aboriginal folk lore Timara is the home of the guardian spirit. The lagoon is a sanctuary for birds and fish and a timber footbridge across it links Timara to the rest of the Resort facilities. The cottage has two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious living room and 3 metre wide verandahs.
