Tamborine Mountain is a flora and fauna sanctuary, with an attitude to
conservation which started in 1908. There is an immense variety of fauna,
with Albert lyrebirds, scrub turkeys, lorikeets, bower birds and whip birds
being some most likely to be encountered. Platypus still live in our
Mountain creeks. Fireflies glow in the rainforest at night, and the glow
worms at Curtis Falls are a special attraction. There are 9 areas of
National Park for your enjoyment, each with its own character and picnic
facilities provided.

Tamborine Mountain is in the Gold Coast Hinterland and has a subtropical to
temperate climate. It is a plateau, 550 metres above sea level, 4kms wide
and 8 kilometres long and originated as a lava flow from the Mt Warning volcano.
