Caressed by a warm breeze filled with an alluring tropical scent, Double Island's beautifully appointed accommodation offers privacy and seclusion in a lush garden setting.

Accommodation comprises ten one-bedroom Garden View rooms each with marble bathroom and private balcony and ten one-bedroom Apartments each with luxurious open plan lounge and dining area, opulent bathroom, fully-equipped kitchenette, plus either a private plunge pool or outdoor spa. All Apartments and Garden View rooms are fully air-conditioned and adjoining Apartments and Garden View rooms may be configured to form larger two-bedroom, two-bathroom accommodation.

For a genuine tropical island experience, Double Island also offers accommodation in exotic Safari Rooms, located just metres from the water¹s edge, close to the sandy beach with magnificent views. All Safari Rooms are authentic canvas tent structures offering rustic luxury with timber floors, private bathrooms, cooling fans and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Double Island's Activities
Double Island's 5-star facilities include a wide variety of activities, available to guests inclusive in the base rental fee. A key feature of Double Island is the protected 25m heated resort pool and outdoor spa, located in the centre of the resort complex, adjacent to the Long Room restaurant and bar area. The Games Room complex features a quiet library room; computer and Internet access; indoor cinema complete with 52in plasma screen TV and surround sound system; and a large games room with pool and table tennis tables and computer game stations.

An evening under the stars, overlooking the tropical seas at Double Island's unique outdoor cinema provides guests with a special experience. For the health-conscious guest, the air-conditioned beachside gymnasium offers uninterrupted views across Trinity Bay and features the latest in exercise equipment while walking tracks through the island¹s Australian bush lead to a variety of magnificent points from which to view the Coral Sea.

Outdoor and beach activities include the use of catamarans, jet skis, windsurfers, canoes, kayaks and motorised dinghies for guests to explore the warm delights of the surrounding Coral Sea. The comprehensive range of island activities is only the starting point. Combined with the large variety of easily accessed mainland activities, guests are free to plan the ultimate tropical itinerary to suit every special event.

Double Island offers a range of venues and options that will ensure each meal is a memorable occasion. Facilities include a full commercial kitchen, fully-equipped bar and outdoor barbeque areas that allow guests to host perfect beach, deck or poolside functions all in magnificent tropical settings. Of course, guests may prefer an intimate dinner, easily arranged in the comfort of their private room.

Conferences and Special Events

Double Island's recreational facilities convert into an idyllic venue for a relaxed business meeting or memorable conference. The lush tropical setting is the perfect location for a special sales conference or senior management workshop and the ultimate destination for an incentive program. The spacious Games Room converts easily into an ideal conference room for up to forty delegates; the indoor cinema accommodates up to twenty for audiovisual presentations, and the library serves as a break-out room for smaller groups. The majestic Long Room restaurant with its high ceiling and open sides offers the perfect venue for a cocktail party, banquet or open-air presentation. Special events are transformed into truly memorable occasions on Double Island, with our management team, and/or your own event organiser, developing a unique program to suit any requirement. Professional food and beverage catering facilities ensure the highest hospitality standards are met and a variety of colourful local and international entertainment is available to suit every instance. Weddings on Double Island

Double Island is one of the most romantic and exclusive wedding locations in Australia. Imagine, a beautiful beach ceremony, followed by a banquet on the waterside deck with views of Palm Cove and the stunning mainland coastal ranges, and the tranquil sound of the Coral Sea gently lapping against the beach. Your choices are endless and limited only by your imagination. Wedding receptions at Double Island include your overnight accommodation in either the Roundhouse honeymoon suite or a stunning apartment with heated private plunge pool. If you would like selected guests to stay over and celebrate your first day as newlyweds we will provide 5-star accommodation for up to 50 guests (twin share basis) for no additional charge. Situated in Tropical North Queensland, just 10 minutes from Palm Cove, Double Island is only available on a whole-of-island basis, which guarantees you and your wedding guests have exclusive use of the island and all its facilities. Double Island can cater for receptions of up to 400 guests on the open-air waterside deck or 85 guests in the majestic Long Room restaurant.

Transfers and Location
The Double Island catamaran transfers guests between Double Island and Palm Cove. Boat transfers to Double Island of ten minutes duration depart from and return to the main pier at the northern end of Palm Cove and are inclusive in the rental fee. Helicopters transporting guests may land on the main beach of Double Island. Flying time from Cairns International Airport is approximately five minutes (additional charge).

Double Island is a privately owned 19 hectare (46 acre) island located one and a half kilometres (approximately one mile) from the village of Palm Cove, twenty five minutes by car north of Cairns International Airport.

Double Island is offered only on a "bare-island" basis, which does not provide, in the basic tariff, for food, beverage or staffing services ­ other than those staff involved in island transfers, water sports supervision and daily room servicing. With the exception of the owner and manager's accommodation areas, guests have exclusive use of the entire island, including all land and water-based facilities.

Double Island's management team will assist clients, at no additional charge to the "bare-island" rental fee, in organising suppliers to meet required staff and service levels together with menu and beverage selections, entertainment and other non-inclusive activities and managing all third-party commercial arrangements.
