RETURN TO TASMANIAN EXPEDITIONS

Franklin River Rafting - 9 Days/8 nights

In 2008 we celebrated the 30th anniversary of World Expeditions' rafting the Franklin River. When Lincoln Hall and Garry Weare pioneered that first commercial raft descent in November 1978, the river was pristine. We are proud that we can say the same now, 30 years later. For adventurers the Franklin River is synonymous with wilderness conservation. It is one of the world's last great wild rivers and forges through the rugged Southwest of Tasmania, through deep gorges, quiet pools and magnificent temperate rainforest. Regardless of the river level, you will be in safe hands as our experienced guides have an unmatched safety record and the preparation of delicious meals will exceed expectations. Any descent of the Franklin is demanding, and although it is not necessary to have previous rafting experience, some wilderness knowledge, along with a sound level of fitness is essential. Join us to celebrate this magnificent wild river.

Inclusions: 8 breakfasts, 9 lunches and 10 dinners, experienced guides, all safety and rafting equipment including rafts, wetsuit and paddling jacket, waterproof storage for personal gear, all group camping equipment, emergency communications and group first aid kit, transport from Hobart.
