Your journey begins with a flight over the city of Sydney, before heading out across the Pacific to Lord Howe Island. As you approach the island you will see the twin peaks of Gower and Lidgbird rising from the sea. The aircraft circles the island and lands to the east crossing the lagoon. Day 2 - Lord Howe Island
This morning you participate in an orientation tour of the island. The remainder of the day is free. We suggest you hire a bicycle to explore the island. For the energetic, climb to Kims Lookout, or walk across the island to Ned’s Beach to hand feed the fish. Beachcomber Lodge (BD)
Day 3 - Lord Howe Island
The day is free. Perhaps a round of golf or tennis? For those that are keen snorkel divers, you can arrange a dive in the lagoon. Whatever your preference the secret of Lord Howe is to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Beachcomber Lodge (BLD)
Day 4 - Lord Howe Island - Fraser Island
A morning departure from Lord Howe Island to Coolangatta to refuel before flying north to Hervey Bay. You are transferred to the waterfront for the fast cat ride across Wide Bay to Fraser Island. The remainder of the day is free. Kingfisher Bay Resort (BLD)
Day 5 - Fraser Island
Today is free to relax and enjoy the ambience of this award winning resort. Kingfisher Bay Resort (BLD)
Day 6 - Fraser Island
This morning you rise early for a full day of exploration of Fraser Island. The first stop is the lush rainforest of Central station with its tall timbers and cool running crystal clear streams. From here you drive east to the coast for lunch before turning north for a visit to the wreck of the SS Maheno and the coloured sands. The return journey is via Lake McKenzie, an inland waterway with clear waters and almost pure silica sand. Kingfisher Bay Resort (BLD)
Day 7 - Fraser Island - Sydney
This morning you transfer across to the mainland for the flight home on Virgin Airlines 737. (It should be noted that it is possible to extend your holiday on Fraser Island - Just ask us!). (B)
