DAY 2: Friday or Monday
Darwin to Bamurru Plains

Enjoy your 20 minute flight from Darwin to Bamurru Plains, an exclusive safari camp built on the edge of the Mary River floodplains. Exuding a style of ‘Wild Bush Luxury,’ guest accommodation is in cool safari bungalows, each with an en suite bathroom and a private deck overlooking the surrounding wilderness. The central lounge area and pool deck is the perfect place to relax with a well stocked bar where you can help yourself to a cold drink. This fragile ecosystem is alive with an extraordinary variety of birdlife and wildlife. Agile wallabies, dingoes, brumbies, buffalo and goannas are all regular sightings; however, it is the prolific birdlife that makes this area unique. (BLD)

Bamurru Plains to Darwin
This morning depart Bamurru Plains for your return to Darwin. Check in to SKYCITY Darwin, your base for the next three nights. (B)

DAY 6: Tuesday or Friday

Tiwi Islands After a 30 minute scenic flight you arrive at Bathurst Island. Meet your local guide to be taken on a journey through the Aboriginal community of Nguiu. Visit the museum and Early Mission Precinct. Hear about the colourful history, spend time with some Tiwi Ladies while they work on their weaving and painting. Visit a picturesque lookout and learn about traditional bush tuckers, bush medicine and natural fibres and dyes. (BL)

DAY 7: Wednesday or Saturday The Ghan and Katherine Board The Ghan and travel south to Katherine where you can enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour† of the Katherine Gorge. Then hop back on board for your overnight journey to Alice Springs. (BLD) DAY 8: Thursday or Sunday Alice Springs Arrive in Alice Springs in the morning. Here you can enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour† before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey south overnight. (BD)

Day 9: Friday or Monday
Adelaide
Enjoy one last breakfast onboard before arriving in Adelaide. Check in to the Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury, your overnight accommodation. This afternoon is free at your leisure. (B)

Adelaide to Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island
Transfer to the Adelaide Airport for your flight to Kangaroo Island (airfare additional cost). On arrival in Kingscote you will be met by a representative of Southern Ocean Lodge. Perched on a dramatic cliff top above the wild Southern Ocean the Lodge features an environmentally sensitive design. (LD)
