Day 1: Saturday or Wednesday
Join the mighty Indian Pacific in Sydney
Spend your first night on the Indian Pacific enjoying a delicious dinner along with views of the Blue Mountains as you head west into the outback. (D)

Day 2: Sunday or Thursday
Broken Hill and Adelaide
You will have time for a Whistle Stop Tour† in Broken Hill before reboarding the train to Adelaide where you are transferred to the Rydges South Park Adelaide. The remainder of your day is free to explore the elegant capital of South Australia. (BL)

Day 3: Monday or Friday
Clare Valley, Flinders Ranges

This morning head north to the wine regions of the Clare Valley, where you have an opportunity to visit one of the boutique wineries. As the legendary lilac haze of the Flinders Ranges looms closer, you are now in the habitat of Australia’s famous wildlife – not only do kangaroos and emus live here in abundance, but also many species of birds and reptiles. From here you travel through vast sheep station country with the opportunity to stop at one of the ghost towns. Spend the next 2 nights at Wilpena Pound Resort in the heart of the Flinders Ranges. Day 4: Tuesday or Saturday
Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna

Your guide will take you through Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, once an ancient seabed where millions of years of history, geological sequences and the oldest fossils of animal life on Earth are preserved. This area is also home to the yellow-footed rock-wallaby, which abound amongst the gum trees and on the steep, ragged slopes of the gorges. Enjoy lunch at the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna (population 7) situated along the original old Ghan railway line. The Hotel is renowned for its high quality Indigenous food. The vibrant colours of the rock faces change through the day, and dusk and dawn are unforgettable. (BL)

Day 5: Wednesday or Sunday
Flinders Ranges to Adelaide
After your second night at Wilpena Pound, the morning journey takes you through the Moralana Scenic Drive that provides magnificent views as you travel between Wilpena Pound and Elder Range. After lunch you make your way from Quorn, the home of the Pichi Richi Railway, through the Pichi Richi Pass near Devils Peak to the high country with views over Spencer Gulf. See some of the historic seaside townships as you make your way along the coast. Stay overnight at the Rydges South Park Adelaide. (BL)

Day 6: Thursday or Monday
Adelaide
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before check out. (B)
