Board The Overland daylight service this morning. Enjoy the scenery as the train winds its way through the Adelaide Hills and across the Murray River, passing the Grampians before arriving at Melbourne early evening. Make your own way to Batman’s Hill on Collins, your base for the next six nights.

DAY 2: Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday
Melbourne City and Yarra River
Join your city sights tour and experience the brilliance of Melbourne and its wonderful history. Stop to explore Melbourne’s gardens, then travel past the Westgate Bridge and along the Grand Prix track to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, before boarding your luxury cruiser for a spectacular one hour cruise along the famous Yarra River and see the city skyline. DAY 3: Wednesday, Friday or Sunday
Puffing Billy and Healseville Wildlife
Travel through the Dandenong Ranges to Grant Reserve where you can hand feed the Crimson Rosella birds. Take Puffing Billy, Australia's oldest operating steam train through the spectacular forest, before enjoying a delicious lunch surrounded by Australian animals. Spend the afternoon wandering around one of Australia’s most famous wildlife parks. (BL)

DAY 4: Thursday, Saturday or Monday
Sovereign Hill and Ballarat
Visit Sovereign Hill to learn about the history of the Gold Rush and life in the 1850’s. Pan for gold, take a stagecoach ride, join an underground mine tour or just wander around the unique souvenir shops and see traditional craftsmen shilling their trades. (B)

DAY 5: Friday, Sunday or Tuesday
Melbourne
Today is free to relax and explore Melbourne. (B)

DAY 6: Saturday, Monday or Wednesday
Great Ocean Road
Travel the famous coastal Great Ocean Road to the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge, marvel at the golden sandy beaches, sheer cliffs and amazing rock formations. Stop at Bells Beach, and lunch at Apollo Bay. Visit Port Campbell before returning express to Melbourne. (B)
