History of Bill Peach Journeys
Throughout the past 30 years, Bill Peach Journeys has demonstrated unsurpassed innovation and a passion for creating unique and stylish travel experiences. The company began with a vision of providing more personal and enlightening air cruise experiences in Australia.
Founded in 1983, by Nancy Knudsen and Bill Peach, the company began by utilising private aircraft to create spectacular luxury travel experiences of outback Australia. ‘Aircruising’ was the concept of travel writer and media personality Bill Peach. An intrepid adventurer, he set off with film crew by his side, in search of the ‘real’ Australia. It didn’t take him long to realise that ‘Aircruising’ was the perfect way to see Australia’s vast continent.
Bill Peach's in-depth knowledge and wealth of experience in Australia has been used to develop an exclusive range of Australian Expeditions, designed to provide a more intimate exploration of specific regions of Australia. Australian Expeditions use a combination of transport modes, although the major portion is by road. These journeys take a small group of approximately 16 people.
Quality Accommodation
Hotels are chosen to capture each destination’s character. Accommodation extends from elegant, centrally located city hotels to small, boutique style establishments in picturesque locations and remote hideaways. Where available, accommodation will be five star, in places where this is not possible accommodation has been chosen to ensure you receive the highest standard of service and comfort available for that destination.
Fine Cuisine
The journey planners have carefully selected dining opportunities that are often an experience in themselves. Where possible, meals are a-la-carte or self-selection, offering you the freedom to experience each region’s distinct character through its local produce.
Modes of Transportation
Aircruising Australia - The style of aircraft is specifically chosen to provide the best possible access into remote locations and can range from an 8 seat Cessna, to a 36 seat Embraer Jet or a 30 seat SAAB340B aircraft. The private aircraft are not restricted by commercial schedules and are able to land at small airports providing us with direct landings into the heart of each destination. There are no formal check-in procedures at airports and luggage handling is taken care of for you. The aircraft is able to fly at low altitudes providing aerial sightseeing of the landscape below. With high wings and large picture windows, every seat has unsurpassed views.
Australian Expeditions - Overland journeys use a combination of transport modes, although the major portion is by road. Four wheel drive, mini-coach, aircraft, cruise vessel or rail may also be used as the destination dictates.
