Day 1 - Arrive Norfolk Island
The journey begins today at Sydney International Airport. On arrival at Norfolk Island transfer to your accommodation for the next four evenings, the Governor’s Lodge Resort. The resort is set in 12 acres of lush, sub-tropical gardens, surrounded by majestic Norfolk pines. Accommodation: Governor's Lodge
Day 2 - Botanic Gardens
This morning visit the Norfolk Island Botanic Gardens. Following, we visit Camelot Gardens, which are set in two acres created by Island resident Robin-Eleanor Adams, whose family tree can be traced back to the original Bounty Mutineers. Dinner tonight is a progressive dinner in three local homes, which is a wonderful way to experience the hospitality, culture and history of the locals first hand. Accommodation: Governor's Lodge
Day 3 - History of Norfolk Island
Today view the Gallery Guava and visit the Cyclorama which is a continous 360 degree panoramic painting that traces the history of the Bounty leaving England through to Tahiti, Pitcairn Island and arrival at Norfolk Island in 1856. Late afternoon visit Kingston and listen to the ”Trial of the Fifteen”, a fascinating play that reveals Norfolk Island’s colourful and sometimes turbulent past. Our tour of Kingston covers the first and second settlements of both the convicts and the military. We also walk through the ruins of the New Gaol, see the Pier store, Boat Shed and Crank Mill. Day 4 - Art tour of Norfolk Island
This morning walk across to the Pitcairn Settlers village for a guided tour. Visit with an original settler’s descendant to see and hear what life was like for earlier generations. This afternoon enjoy an art tour of the Island, visiting the Norfolk Island Cottage Pottery and Art Gallery and later today walk to the Captain Cook Monument and scenic lookout. Day 5 - Homeward bound
After breakfast this morning take a leisurely walk in the National Park before having lunch and transferring to the airport.
