ACTIVITY RATING LEVEL - ACTIVE - These journeys are specifically designed for the active traveller. To fully appreciate the regions visited on this programe participants need to be capable of walking up to 1km on uneven surfaces unaided, walk up steps and inclines, travel in four-wheel drive vehiles along ungraded roads and board boats from water tenders. These journeys include early morning guided walking tours through National Parks and access into some of Australia's most remote regions.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Cairns / Bedarra Island
Your journey begins at Cairns airport with aircraft transfers to the luxurious Bedarra Island; an exclusive tropical private hideaway, lying off the coast of Cairns. Accommodation: Bedarra Island Resort

Day 2 - Bedarra Island
The focus on Bedarra Island is on peace and relaxation, there are also many activities to enjoy including self guided island walks, fishing and snorkelling. Or simply relax and enjoy this exclusive tropical island retreat and enjoy the exquisite cuisine in the terraced outdoor restaurant. Accommodation: Bedarra Island Resort

Day 3 - Lawn Hill National Park / Groote Eylandt
Reboarding the private aircraft this morning for the spectacular oasis of Lawn Hill National Park. Continue on to Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Although there has never been tourism on Groote Eylandt, the Anindilyakwa, traditional owners, are keen to show off their way of life, art and history on this idyllic island paradise. Accommodation: Dugong Beach Resort

Day 4 - Groote Eylandt / Arnhem Land
Our private aircraft awaits to transport us back to the mainland into the heart of Arnhem land, landing at the township of Oenpelli. Oenpelli is an Aboriginal community on the eastern border of World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park at the base of the Arnhem Land escarpment. Visit Injalak Art and Craft Centre and continue by road to view the breathtaking billabongs and ancient Aboriginal rock art paintings concluding in the township of Jabiru in Kakadu National Park. Day 5 - Bamurru Plains
Located to the west of Kakadu on the Mary River floodplains is the remote Bamurru Plains. A profusion of bird and wildlife is on the doorstep of a unique bush camp that exudes ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ and brings a touch of style to a remote and beautiful wilderness. Accommodation: Bamurru Plains

Day 6 - Bamurru Plains
The floodplains of the Mary River region form one of the most significant ecosystems in Australia. To explore this stunning region there are many activities on offer including airboat tours of the wetlands, 4WD excursions to view the abundant wildlife and birdwatching. The phenomenal biodiversity of this region will unfold during your stay. Accommodation: Bamurru Plains

Day 7 - Darwin
Departing Bamurru Plains this morning our private aircraft will transport us to the capital of the Northern Territory - Darwin. This city has had a fascinating history from its involvement in World War II to the devestation of cyclone Tracey, however each time the city has been able to build stronger and more resilient. Explore this city with a guided tour and the opportunity in the afternoon to further explore at your leisure. Accommodation: Mantra Esplanade

Day 8 - Litchfield National Park
One of the best kept secrets of the Top End is Litchfield National Park, overshadowed by its neighbour Kakadu National Park. Litchfield protects extensive examples of Top End habitats. It features numerous waterfalls which cascade from a sandstone plateau called the Tabletop Range, intriguing magnetic termite mounds, historical sites and the weathered sandstone pillars of the Lost City. Today will be spent exploring this remarkable National Park. Accommodation: Mantra Esplanade

Day 9 - Journey Concludes
This remarkable journey concludes today after traversing Australia’s most remote northern regions that are out of bounds to individual travellers.
