Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Shangri-La Hotel Sydney
Your journey begins today in Sydney at the Shangri-La Hotel. The hotel is located in Sydney’s historic Rocks district and world famous Sydney Harbour. The check-in time for the Shangri-La Hotel is 3.00pm. Feel free to leave your baggage with the concierge should you be arriving earlier than 3.00pm and take the opportunity to explore Sydney at your leisure.

Tonight there will be a welcome dinner at Café Sydney. The restaurant captures the essence of Sydney from its amazing location on the rooftop of Customs House and has spectacular harbour views. It is the perfect opportunity to meet with your fellow travellers and Journey Director. Accommodation: Overnight Shangri-La Hotel

Day 2: Parramatta River
This morning we travel by private cruiser through Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River. The river merges with Sydney Harbour at Longnose Point, Birchgrove and Manns Point, Greenwich. For most of its length, the river twists and curls into an astonishing number of exotic-sounding bays and coves: Hen and Chicken Bay, Iron Cove, Looking Glass bay, Bedlam Bay and so on. As a key link between the settlements of Sydney and Parramatta, the Parramatta River played an important role in Australia’s colonial history. Since the Sydney Olympic games were held at Homebush Bay in 2000, there has been a dramatic rise in activity on the river and a great deal of change. Lunch today will be onboard the boat as we meander through this interesting waterway. Accommodation: Overnight Shangri-La Hotel

Day 3: Sydney - Berowra Waters
This morning we visit the historic Vaucluse House before transferring to Rose Bay where we board seaplanes for our flight to Berowra Waters Inn. Set in bushland on the beautiful Hawkesbury River and accessed only by seaplane or boat Berowra Waters Inn is a true Sydney icon. A twenty minute flight north from Rose Bay the Berowra River widens and flows through a wild and rugged gorge. On the west bank nestled amongst the gum trees lies one of Australia’s great dining rooms. Combining Dietmar Sawyere’s internationally acclaimed cuisine, a stunning wine collection and a totally different refurbished restaurant this is genuinely one of Australia’s great dining locations. Flights both to and from Berowra Waters Inn are spectacular, flying over and landing deep within the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, and like all flights conducted by Sydney Seaplanes incorporates Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Day 4: Picasso Exhibition - New Year’s Eve
After a leisurely breakfast this morning we visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales for a tour of the Picasso Exhibition. Over 150 important paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings created by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) have come from the artist’s personal collection and are drawn from the permanent collection of the Musee National Picasso, Paris, the largest and most renowned repository of the artist’s works in the world. The exhibition will capture every phase of his extraordinary career, including masterpieces from his Blue, Rose, Expressionist, Cubist, Neoclassical and Surrealist periods.

Mid afternoon we return to the hotel to get ready for New Year’s Eve at Altitude restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows at Altitude Restaurant, allow diners to enjoy the most outstanding Harbour views of any Sydney restaurant and it is the perfect spot to view the spectacular fireworks on Sydney Harbour. Day 5: Shangri-La Hotel - Home
After a leisurely breakfast this morning you say farewell to friends.
