Art, Outback and Cuisine - (Melbourne to Melbourne) - 4 Days/3 Night
Day 1
Executive car transfer from your hotel in Melbourne. Depart Big Blue Lounge, Moorabbin Airport Melbourne, over flying Melbourne city enroute to Mildura. We enjoy lunch on the banks of the Murray at Trentham Estate before heading back into Mildura, via the river. Dinner at Stefano’s famous award winning restaurant in the Grand Hotel - a 5 course degustation delight. Tonight we stay in the Presidential Suite at the Grand Hotel - a Mildura icon
Day 2
Breakfast is followed by the short flight to Kars Station a 150,000 acre sheep property 60km south east of Broken Hill. Fred Hughes, the owner, will take you on a private tour of the property this morning. After lunch in the homestead, feel free to wander around and visit the local school house museum on the station. Pre-dinner drinks in the courtyard followed by a traditional Aussie barbecue. Relax and enjoy the outback stars.
Day 3
A leisurely breakfast then the 10 minute flight into Broken Hill. We spend the day viewing the Art Galleries of this well known Outback region, including Silverton, or maybe take an underground tour of Silverton’s 1800s Day Dream Silver Mine (able-bodied and sturdy shoes required). Lunch is at the Broken Earth café perched high up over looking the historic Broken Hill Township. Return to Kars Station that afternoon for another night’s accommodation in the homestead’s en-suited guesthouse.
Day 4
Today we depart for Brown Brothers Winery, at Milawa, for lunch. Lunch here is spent sampling some great Victorian food and wine from their indulgent degustation menu. Enjoy a scenic 45 minute flight back to Melbourne. Executive car transfer to your hotel in Melbourne
