As the city comes to life you will look down on some of the cities iconic sporting venues like the MCG, Melbourne Park and Albert Park racetrack. If you are looking for a romantic soft adventure that gives you a peek at city life from a totally different angle then Ballooning over Melbourne is a must.

Morning of the Flight: We meet at your hotel half an hour before first light (you will be advised of the exact time the evening before when you ring in to confirm details). Your pilot will give you a short briefing. You will then be transported to the launch site where you may help with the launch, or stand back and take unforgettable pictures.

Then away we go, drifting gently over the city of Melbourne in our beautiful hot air balloon. Your flight will last for approximately one hour. During the flight our ground crew follows the balloon to meet you at the landing site. After we make our final landing and pack the balloon away, we head back to your hotel so you can enjoy the rest of the day in Melbourne on land. Afterwards enjoy a full buffet breakfast complimented with Domain Chandon Sparkling Wine.

The Yarra Valley is situated only 50 minutes from Melbourne’s city centre. Complimentary transfers are available from every city motel/hotel. We fly in the Yarra Valley every day (weather permitting). After the flight we return to Rochford Winery for a sumptuous ‘Chandon’ Breakfast.

Morning of the Flight: We meet at Rochford Winery (Cnr Maroondah Hwy and Hill Road, Coldstream) half an hour before sunrise (time advised when confirming the night before your flight). Whilst having a cup of tea or coffee your pilot will give you a short briefing. You will then be transported to the launch site where you may help with the launch, or stand back and take the holiday pictures. Then away we go, drifting gently over the countryside in our beautiful balloon. Your flight will last for approximately one hour. After we make our final landing and pack the balloon away, we head back to Rochford Winery and toast our morning's flight with a glass or two of Chandon whilst enjoying a hearty breakfast.

Morning of the Flight: We meet at Highton Manor (Highton Lane Mansfield), half an hour before sunrise (you will be advised of the exact time on your confirmation sheet). Whilst having a cup of tea or coffee your pilot will give you a short safety briefing. You will then be transported to the launch site where you may help with the launch, or stand back and take in the full details of this activity. Then away we go, floating gently over the Victorian countryside in our beautiful hot air balloon.

Your flight will last for approximately one hour. After we make our final landing and pack the balloon away, we head back to the Highton Manor where you can celebrate your exhilarating morning with newly found friends over breakfast. N.B. For an additional cost you may invite guests to join you at the Champagne breakfast.

Weather: As we meet before sunrise, depending on the time of year and weather, it can be extremely cold. Generally it will not be any colder in the air during the flight than on the ground, so wear layered clothing that can be removed as the day warms up. The burners can radiate heat so a hat is recommended. Your feet can get wet and cold in the early morning dew, so you may like to bring a change of socks. High-heeled shoes are NOT suitable. N.B. Should the flight be cancelled due to inclement weather, you may rebook another day.

Complimentary city CBD pickups are available from every major motel/hotel and will deliver you to the designated departure point half an hour before take-off. When we confirm the booking, we will send you details of the flight including a map on how to find us, the hotel pick up details and phone contact number for you to ring the evening before between 6.00pm-6.30pm to confirm the weather conditions, pick up/departure time.

Balloon flights over Melbourne, Yarra Valley and Mansfield appeal to people of all ages, young and old alike. Return transfers generally have you back at your hotel before 9 a.m. These flights have been specifically designed to have you back in time to pick up another tour, go shopping or go to work.

Global Ballooning, being one of Australia's few balloon flight training schools and a CASA approved maintenance workshop, aims to achieve the highest standard of procedures to ensure utmost safety standards. Global Ballooning is fully certified by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), working under Air Operator Certificate number M543317-06. All pilots are commercially licensed and are bound by regulations pertaining to any passenger airline. The owner of Global Ballooning and chief pilot, Kiff Saunders, is a delegate of CASA, holding the highest possible qualifications in ballooning and has been inducted into the Australian Ballooning Federation (ABF) Hall of Fame.
