The staff at Stardancer Sailing always endeavour to tailor the cruise itinerary to suit the personal requirements and interests of each client. The primary aim is to give you a safe and memorable sailing experience aboard Stardancer that is designed as much as possible by you. You choose the departure and return time, the destinations, the activities and when you wish to do them. The crew will follow your chosen itinerary and all you have to do is just unwind, relax and enjoy the experience.

Stardancer - The Yacht
Stardancer is a 44 foot Beneteau - maintained in new condition and able to accommodate six or seven passengers in comfort. There are two double cabins at the after end of the boat and one single and one twin forward. It is very spacious with plenty of headroom and includes en-suites to both double cabins plus a forward shower/head. Maximum passenger numbers are up to six adults plus crew comfortably, or up to seven passengers if children are included. The main saloon's dining area can also be made up to a third double berth if desired and there is no problem with sleeping on deck if that’s your preference and weather permits.

As an indication of what you may expect considering your cruise will be a private charter in most cases:

• To sail with two passengers will give you the luxury and privacy you might hope for in a intimate, romantic getaway.

• Two couples will also be able to share the accommodation with their own private spaces and also enjoy meals together or separately depending on their requirements at the time.

• A party of six passengers will usually turn into a party of sorts.

• Families of any size are catered for in any number of ways to suit their particular needs.

As with any yacht of this type, Stardancer have the opportunity to carry as much or as little sail as is comfortable, though there is definitely an upper limit to this dictated by the weather. Stardancer do not use their engine unless absolutely necessary.

Booking Options
There are two ways of booking a trip onboard Stardancer. One is on a charter basis and the other is a shared trip, whether a shared charter or a shared day trip.

As a charter, departure time is as you wish. On a shared basis, Stardancer plan to sail at 0830am, but this can be changed if all parties are in agreement.

You will be invited to take as much or as little part in the sailing or navigation of the vessel as you wish.

Inclusions
In all cruises - all meals, digital copies of photos taken, statutory fees and equipment used for snorkelling and fishing are included.

In private charters - beer, a selection of red and white quality Australian wines and soft drinks and digital copies of any photos taken are included.

Not included - Other alcoholic drinks or phone calls.

Note: You may wish to bring along specific items to suit your taste like music, games, your personal fins and goggles, personal sunscreen and your USB camera cable.

Cairns Weather
Cairns' climate is a typical tropical climate with the 'wet' season being December through to March / April with most of the rain in the latter months. The wet season is generally hot and humid although a cruise on Stardancer will find the cool sea breezes and is the ideal way to enjoy North Queensland at this time.

The remainder of the year is mainly dry and in the dry season there is a steady stream of air from the cooler south with few changes in either direction or strength. These days are usually considered perfect for sailing and generally provide an enjoyable experience.

Sailing Destinations
Stardancer Sailing are in survey to sail anywhere along the Queensland coast out to 50 miles which gives you more than ample scope to visit any particular place you have an interest in. The waters around Cairns and within the Great Barrier Reef provide relatively smooth sailing through some of the most spectacular coral reefs you are ever likely to see. For the more adventurous there is always the opportunity of venturing further afield. Stardancer Sailing Charters pride themselves in their flexibility with times, destinations and activities.

Departure - You will arrive at 'D' finger in Cairns Marina at the time of departure. There is no need for any prolonged boarding procedure, just come aboard and you are ready to sail. Procedures regarding safety, reef care and personal protection are explained.

Dining on Stardancer
Dining can be enjoyed below in the saloon where there is space for six settings or on deck where there is space for four, or both if required. Special dietary requirements will be catered for on board Stardancer and must be notified at time of booking.

Breakfast - aboard Stardancer there is quite a variety of cereal and they always carry bread, bacon, eggs and fruit. Particular items can be requested at time of booking and will be supplied dependant on availability.

Lunch - is normally taken while moving, though not always. A good variety of gourmet sandwiches and fruit will be supplied.

Dinner - may be eaten on return to Cairns particularly on 12 hour cruises, but is normally eaten while relaxing in the lee of an island or cay on extended cruises. If able to eat while stationary, then staff prepare simple meals like steak or prawns with salads. If sailing while eating dinner, then the more easily manageable rice or pasta dishes will be provided. In either case, deserts are always available and always manageable.

Activities on/from Stardancer
Sailing - of course the primary purpose is simply sailing but the destination is of equal importance. Learning to sail is one of the things you can do if you are so inclined. Staff can show you in as much detail as you want, the running of the vessel including steering, navigating, sail setting and trimming and will even discuss the theories of each of these if you wish.

Snorkelling - the easiest way to see the reef is by snorkelling. Stardancer staff always spend as much time as you require to make sure that you are as comfortable in the water as possible, before viewing the magnificent reef.

Diving - under normal circumstances diving is not included as a service onboard Stardancer, but this can be included under some circumstances and by special arrangement. Normally, you would expect that this may be arranged on longer cruises with less than the maximum number of berths taken. Diving does incur an additional cost as it requires the hire of equipment not normally carried on the boat.

Alternatively, there is a nearby island and many other boats to rendezvous with that are fully equipped with diving gear and dive masters that will enable you to enjoy diving in their waters. The reefs there are quite varied. If this is your choice, then any additional costs incurred are directly payable to the island staff. Arrangements can be made on your behalf so that you can enjoy this service with a minimum of fuss.

Fishing - Stardancer does carry gear and bait to enable you to troll for fish and will sail to places where fish are likely to be caught if this is your preference. As any other type of fishing tends to cause lines to be caught in the rigging, it is not available.

Cruise Rates/Conditions
Stardancer private charters offer crewed rates which are based on a per day per vessel rate despite the number of passengers in your group. (Maximum 6 or 7 persons *conditions apply).

A day is considered to be 24 hours and you may choose to join Stardancer for any increment of one half day.

Stardancer Sailing do offer an opportunity for you to allow or accept invites to other customers as a way of potentially reducing your costs. On booking, your reservation will be marked - 'Allow Shared Bookings', which confirms you have indicated that you accept that the yacht is not exclusively yours.

Note: Though at the outset there will be no change in the total price of the cruise, if your offer is accepted and another party sails with you on an agreed cruise, then you will share the cost of the charter with them.

Shared Bookings 12 Hours or less can be made on Stardancer and charged on a per person basis. This type of booking is only accepted within ten days from the date of sailing. The maximum number of passengers is increased to 8 due to berths not being required.

Stardancer Booking Conditions
A deposit is payable on creation of the booking and is required for confirmation of your reservation.

The balance of full payment is due 30 days prior to sailing (or when booking if booking within 30 days). This can be made by cheque, credit card or bank transfer. (details sent by email on booking) * Credit card fees apply.

Cancellations
Within 24 hours of making the booking - all payments will be refunded (less administration costs).

Otherwise - No refunds (less administration fee) are given unless the booking is taken (or partly taken) by another party.

Cancellations by Stardancer
The cause of cancellations by Stardancer can only be due to damage or bad weather.

In the case of damage to the vessel, Stardancer will make all attempts to find a similar booking for you and cover any reasonable additional costs. In the event that this is not possible, you are entitled to a full refund or a change to the booking date if any agreeable date can be found. Stardancer will endeavour to notify you at the earliest opportunity of any possibility of this causing you any inconvenience.

Travel Insurance - You should ensure that your insurance covers cases of bad weather or any other safety consideration outside of Stardancer's control which causes them to cancel all or any part of a cruise. Total Luxury Australia staff would be happy to arrange Travel Insurance for you at time of booking. Just ask us.
