Cradled into Freycinet Bay - 6 Days

Day One: Melbourne – Launceston – Freycinet Peninsula
Depart Melbourne's Essendon Airport at 0815. Enjoy stunning aerial views of Melbourne city prior to tracking south-east flying across Westernport Bay and further over Australia's Bass Strait. Arriving in Launceston Airport, we take a scenic drive through the north east of Tasmania's picturesque countryside. Arriving at Freycinet Lodge, AAA guests are served lunch with a gourmet view.

Freycinet Lodge is easy to fall in love with, whether it be the architecture of The Lodge itself or the cuisine to savour served within its idyllic position. Following on from lunch, guests are eventually convinced to leave the splendour of Freycinet Lodge to take part in an easy trek along Richardson's Beach with an additional option to view a Tasmanian sunset at the aptly named Sunset Point. Down to the last drop of champagne or the last ray of sunlight, whatever comes first, return to Freycinet Lodge for the evening meal. Accommodation is at Freycinet Lodge or similar.
Day Two: Wineglass Bay – Hazards Beach
Birds calling from across the bay act as natures own alarm clock, reminding guests to start their day. After breakfast, AAA guests are escorted along a trail upward to the Hazards, which eventually will lead to the Saddle to enjoy postcard-like views of breathtaking Wineglass Bay. From the Saddle, guests are guided on a downward trail as they descend onto the Bay's pure white sand. As the tranquil waters gently lap against the sands, you are served a picnic lunch at a favourite AAA location along the beach.

Lunch is followed, by a short walk across the cape to Hazards Beach, where all are welcomed aboard for a relaxing return boat transfer back to the Lodge. Freycinet Lodge chefs along with your hosts eagerly await your return so to arrange your sunset pre-dinner drinks, and yet another gourmet dining experience. Time to rest. Accommodation is at Freycinet Lodge.
Day Three: Freycinet – Launceston

AAA guests depart Freycinet Lodge with regret due to their newly created love affair with the Bay's immense beauty. As expected, breakfast is divine at Freycinet Lodge. A picturesque morning coastal drive eventually turns inland over the hills back into Launceston. Launceston city is thriving, offering many and various options for restaurant lunch dining. After lunch, you are escorted on a tour of the tremendous Cataract Gorge. Trails surrounding Cataract Gorge offer opportunity to view its splendour or simply go aboard the scenic chairlift allowing for easy armchair sightseeing. While the afternoon sun sets across Launceston city, guests return to the Colonial Motel for dinner. Accommodation is at the Colonial Motel or similar.

Day Four: Launceston – Cradle Mountain
AAA guests share their fond memories of the day before during breakfast prior to a morning flight over Tasmania's scenic countryside to Devonport. Over-land by road private vehicle transfer into Tasmania's high country arriving at Cradle Mountain Lodge. On arrival, your lunch is served within the warm mountain-style architecture of the Lodge.

Afternoon activities are various and unique to the region. Venture deep into the forest on the King Billy circuit or take advantage of the many and various activities Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge provides. Select from luxurious spa treatments to the more active fly-fishing lessons conducted by local experts. Dinner and wine menus are of the highest standard- indulge at this most luxurious of retreats. Time to rest. Accommodation is at Cradle Mountain Lodge or similar.
Day Five: Cradle Mountain
Enjoy breakfast prior to an easy morning at leisure. Afternoon activities include an over-land journey toward the scenic Dove Lake Circuit, enjoying awe-inspiring views of Cradle Mountain and the serenity of Dove Lake. AAA guests are guided along an easy trail, ideal for the avid photographers, but a very refreshing and rewarding adventure. Returning to the Lodge for lunch, AAA guides entice all to take part in either a trek to the nearby waterfalls or an opportunity to stay within the Lodge to enjoy a relaxing massage at the Day Spa. Pre-dinner drinks at sunset sets the stage for a celebratory farewell dinner party amid newly made friends. Accommodation is at Cradle Mountain Lodge or similar.
Day Six: Cradle Mountain – Melbourne
Fresh mountain air enriches your morning as you enjoy your breakfast at Cradle Mountain Lodge. Today you are treated to a very special tour personally escorted by Dennis Maxwell- famous in these parts. He is a colourful local character who has created his own unique experience and is willing to share. Dennis, together with AAA guests embark upon a Tasmanian wilderness experience not forgotten quickly.

Utilising his modified 4WD coach, Dennis selects his favourite off-road tracks that weave directly into Tasmania's high country. He sincerely enjoys his time with AAA guests and is known to put on quite a show. He will allow morning tea to be hosted at a very neat Hideaway Stockman's Cabin. After enjoying the company of Dennis Maxwell, AAA guests now descend from Tasmania's high country to arrive at Devonport for lunch. AAA pilots are in waiting prior to departure homeward bound arriving at Essendon Airport, Melbourne at 1730.
