From Sunset Bay Escape you may be lucky and see rare birds like black cockatoos and sea eagles hovering high above the house, dolphins and seals swimming in D'entrecasteaux channel as well as whales during the migration season. For the energetic holiday maker, you may want to surf, snorkel or dive in one of the many beautiful bays or beaches around Bruny Island or stay home and you can fish, swim, snorkel, kayak and bushwalk less than 200 metres from your front door, or for those wanting to chill out-laze about and tan on the deck, or enjoy cocktails, as the sun sets behind the mountains. The choice is yours – do as little or as much as you like! Sunset Bay Escape Location Getting to Sunset Bay Escape The property is in a fantastic beachside location on route to the famous Bruny Island lighthouse, spectacular Cloudy Bay Beach and South Bruny National Park. You will access the island by the Bruny Island vehicular ferry which departs from Kettering, 30 minutes south of Hobart. The beautiful scenic ferry ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Once you depart the ferry follow the Bruny Island Main Road to the township of Alonnah (a scenic 40 minute drive). Take the left hand turn directly before you reach the Bruny Island Hotel into William Carte Drive. You will see Sunset Bay Escape approximately 200 metres on your right hand side. About Bruny Island: Bruny consists of two islands, very different in character, which are joined by a narrow isthmus, "The Neck". North Bruny has a drier climate and is well suited to sheep farming whilst South Bruny is more mountainous and has large areas of rain forest in addition to sandy heathlands.
