The Beach Bungalow features a queen sized bed, outdoor shower with views to beautiful Dunk Island and your very own plunge pool. Take a refreshing dip any time you feel like it. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for the best chef or try the barbecue outdoor pizza oven and fireplace - right on the Great Barrier Reef. For those who need to keep in touch with reality, you have access to phone, cable television, DVD/CD player and a book library. Minimum 4 night stay.

The Princess Villa is perched on a granite boulder over the Reef and features the exclusive Le Cobb glass relaxation vessel and Onda washplane specially designed by Joseph Licciardi, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass to soak up the uninterrupted views of the Reef, Timana Island, Dunk Island and Australia and is equipped with all the fuzzy comforts like plasma screen, Bose stereo, Cable television, phones and Bigpond 2 way satellite computer connection, all imported furniture from Milan and a swinging love lounge on the deck on the sea. Getting married (or renewing wedding vows) in less traditional ways is becoming more and more popular. On East Bedarra your tropical island style weddings will be simple, sensual, romantic and can save the headaches of trying to please others than the bride and groom.
Activities from East Bedarra Island Retreat:
Snorkelling equipment is supplied for you to explore the wondrous Great Barrier Reef, you may choose a private charter to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
Paddle ski with the turtles and if you are feeling really energetic you may wish to paddle around the island (this takes approx 1 hour) and only recommended on a calm day, wear a hat and take some water.
There are cleared paths for nature lovers there are plenty of walks and bird watching.
Soak up the uninterrupted views from the look outs and be sure to take a camera.
Swim and play on one of the 2 private beaches or take a plunge into the natural therapeutic saltwater plunge pool.
Fishing hand lines are supplied just be sure to add bait to your catering list. For the more serious, charter a fully catered boat to the outer reef.
Hire a catamaran which can be delivered to your beach to sail around the Family Group of Islands.
Star gaze the night sky and romance by the out fire place that is also designed to make Pizza's.
Collect your free-range eggs for breakfast each morning.
Simply relax in the hammock or pool with a good book.
Take a day out on Dunk Island to pamper yourselves in the Day Spa, or fill your day with aquatic action including jet skiing, water-skiing and Parasailing.
Getting to East Bedarra Island Retreat
Option 1 - Regular Hinterland Aviation flights are available from Cairns to Dunk Island. This is a very relaxing 40 minute flight. Baggage Allowance - Passengers may be restricted to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage. A limit of 16kg per person applies (subject to loading restrictions).
Option 2 - Collect a hire car from the Cairns airport, then enjoy a scenic 2 hours drive south from Cairns to the coastal town of Mission Beach. From here it is a short water taxi to Dunk Island.
On arrival at Dunk Island you will be greeted by the friendly staff with a fruit cocktail then shown to the VIP lounge while your luggage is being placed into your transfer coach. You are then transferred with a scenic tour through Dunk Island village to your private boat charter. This is a scenic 15 minute boat charter which will take you to your private paradise.
Option 3 - From Cairns you have the chance to charter a flight by plane or helicopter to Dunk Island subject to availability and on request.
Notes
East Bedarra Island Retreat is a romantic and exclusive hideaway for ‘couples only’ to enjoy the peace and tranquility and is therefore not child friendly. Temperatures range between 18-24 degrees in the winter months June/July to 28-32 degrees in summer February/March. Any time on Bedarra Island is just beautiful.
There are no shops, bars or restaurants at the retreat. The only night life is the animal kind. Of course you have your very own private bar and restaurant - absolutely perfect just for two. East Bedarra Island Retreat is a totally private heaven for our guests and other resorts on the island respect this and we offer them the same courtesy.
During your stay you may wish to visit nearby Dunk Island. You can charter a private boat to have a day at Dunk Island as it is open to the public and they have a large range of water sports and restaurant and day spa.
