Getting to Sunset House 4 - Fraser Island
By Catamaran: Kingfisher Bay Resort operates a regular passenger ferry service from Hervey Bay Marina to Fraser Island.

By Flight: Qantas Link operates regular daily services between Brisbane and Hervey Bay, while Virgin Blue operates one flight daily from Sydney to Hervey Bay and Jet Star operates one flight Sydney to Hervey Bay 4 days each week.

By Train: Rail services are available to Maryborough West with a coach connection to Hervey Bay.

By Coach: Coach services are available from North and South to Hervey Bay daily.

By Car – Catamaran
- If travelling the Bruce Highway north from Brisbane, take the Maryborough/Hervey Bay exit right and follow the signs through Maryborough to the Urangan Boat Harbour, Buccaneer Drive, Hervey Bay.
- If travelling South from Rockhampton, after Childers take the Torbanlea exit left, and follow the signs to Hervey Bay. Continue on Boat Harbour Drive to the Urangan Boat Harbour, Buccaneer Drive, Hervey Bay.

By Car - 4wd Vehicle barge from River Heads
- If travelling the Bruce Highway north from Brisbane, take the Maryborough/Hervey Bay exit right and follow the signs through Maryborough towards Hervey Bay. Turn right at the Booral Road/Fraser Island barge exit and follow approx 13 km. Turn right onto River Heads Road and follow right to the end to the barge loading area.
- If travelling South from Rockhampton, after Childers take the Torbanlea exit left, and follow the signs to Hervey Bay. At the T intersection turn left towards Hervey Bay and after 500 metres turn right at the Booral Road/Fraser Island barge exit and follow approx 13 km. Turn right onto River Heads Road and follow right to the end to the barge loading area.

Note: Pre-booking of the vehicle barge is required as ferry times are limited and this vessel does not run continuously.

Note: It is a government requirement to hold a vehicle permit for Fraser Island and this can be purchased before getting on the barge.
