Getting to Home Valley Station
Home Valley Station is visited by thousands of guests each year making their way along the challenging Gibb River Road - a 660km mostly unsealed road which winds its way from Derby in the state's North through to Kununurra in the East. Travellers will experience the raw beauty of the Kimberley outback, with spectacular scenery at every stage.

Driving the 120kms from Kununurra to Home Valley Station requires a 4WD vehicle, well equipped with spare tyres and emergency provisions. The initial sector from Kununurra to the Gibb River Road turn-off travels along the Great Northern Highway for approximately 55kms and this is a well maintained sealed road. However, the remaining 69kms along the Gibb River Road is unsealed.

Tourists should be aware the Gibb River Road is inaccessible during the wet season (November 1 - March 31) and therefore closed. Those travelling at the start of the dry season (April 1 - October 31) may still face several large water crossings at swollen river and creek beds, suitable for 4WD only. Travellers will be faced with two major river crossings, the smaller King River Crossing and the enormous Pentecost River Crossing. Once travellers are across the Pentecost River they have entered onto Home Valley Station. The access road, or driveway, to Home Valley Station's Homestead is approximately 10kms from the river and is less than 2kms off the Gibb River Road, clearly signposted with directions.
