The Trig on Mt Arthur, Lilydale

This sustainable boutique one bedroom accommodation is powered by its own hydro electricity and solar energy. It is only a 20 minute drive from Launceston and its pristine surroundings make it the perfect place for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway for couples and singles alike.

Dine on the deck on fine Tasmanian gourmet and organic produce. Enjoy amazing views across the rolling farms and bushland to the Tamar River and Bass Strait by day and spectacular sunsets and starry skies by night. Awake in the morning to the sounds of birds and watch the native wildlife grazing at your doorstep. Take a short bushwalk on the property or continue up Mountain Rd to follow the Mt Arthur track to the summit (5 hrs return). Curl up in front of the wood fire with a book, DVD or music. Perhaps indulge in a glass of local wine while bathing in the outdoor tub on the deck.

The Trig at Lilydale just out of Launceston is a great location for experiencing local day trips and with the TT Line arriving and departing from Devonport (1½ hours away) also makes it perfect for your first and last night stay in Tasmania.

Fire at the Trig Point - Light a fire at the Trig Point as the sun beings to sink and the colours change with dusk descending. Open the sealed bin and discover some treats that will top off this perfect scene.

Activities at The Trig:
The Dam Circuit Walk - This 30 minute circuit walk is around the perimeter of the clearing on the property through to the edge of the melaleuca forest back to the studio. There is a bench seat at the dam half way round the walk to take in the views.

The Forest Walk - This 45 minute walk takes you through melaleuca, dogwood, rainforest, manfern and eucalyptus forests, passing limestone cliffs. The return passes the chookhouse and Trig point.

Native Animals and Birdlife - Dawn and dusk are great times to observe the native animals and birdlife either from the deck at the studio or from one of the walks. The studio torch is useful for night time spotting.

Farm Animals - Get to know the Dorper sheep and collect eggs from The Trig’s 17 chooks.

Star Gazing - The clear skies at night are perfect for observing the stars

Massage Therapist (on site) - A massage is one of the fastest and pleasant ways to relieve this and regain a less stressful feeling within the body. Essential to book your massage prior to arrival.

Nature Walks and National Parks - Nature Walks includes the Mt Arthur walk, which for guests, starts from The Trig. Lilydale Falls walk is another very close walk some 3 kilometres from Lilydale. Other walks in the region include the Cataract Gorge Reserve and Tamar Island Wetland. Mt William National Park and the Bay of Fires are located some 2 hours to the north east of The Trig.

Freycinet Peninsula and Wine Glass Bay are a further 2 hours south via Bicheno with Port Arthur world heritage site taking the same time to travel to. Cradle Mountain is located about 2½ hours to the south west of The Trig and a further 3 hours drive to Strahan and the Gordon River.

Tours available - A number of personalised tours can be customised to suit your requirements while staying at The Trig. The Trig is located in the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine route only 10 minutes from Pipers Brook and Janze Vineyards, 20 minutes to Bridestowe Lavendar Farm and 5 minutes to Hollybank Treetops Adventures.

Golf - Barnbougle The Dunes and The Lost Farm golf courses are both located approximately a 45 minute drive from The Trig.
